Our Family Story

From Soil to Soul
What Our Story Is Really About

We have a real passion for growing things.
All kinds of things.

We grow babies.
We grow plants.
We grow ideas and businesses.
And whatever else the Lord places in our hands and hearts,
we grow it together.

Our favorite thing of all to grow as a family is love.

Our name reflects our mission

We’re here to grow God’s family and nurture God’s love, because His love is patient and pure, merciful and true. It starts in our home, grows in our hearts, and flows outward to bless others for His glory.

We love him, because he first loved us. ~ 1 John 4:19

Start Here

If you are new here, welcome. We are the Olsen family. Grow Family Love is where we share our family’s story of faith, healing, home, hard seasons, answered prayers, infinite miracles, and the love God keeps growing in our lives.

You can start with our TBI healing journey, read one of our family miracle stories, or visit our Prayers and Praises Wall if you would like us to pray with you or praise God with you.

If you love real family stories, faith, healing, home life, garden days, baby blessings, answered prayers, and the little miracles God weaves through ordinary days, then we would love to share our story with you.

A little about our family

We’ve been inseparable since 1999 when we met and were married in just 3 short months. Since then, God has blessed us with 8 children: 6 beautiful children on earth, including baby boy who arrived December 2016 and baby boy who arrived in 2021 during mama’s TBI, and 2 sweet angels in heaven! We are devoted to our exciting, growing, beautiful family life full of love.

In 2015, we started this blog to share our blessing-filled life with family, friends, customers and others who want to see into our amazing world. Over time, this blog became a place to share our family stories, our home life, our faith, and the love God keeps growing in our lives. It can be messy at times, but it is also so much fun, especially when we see what we can accomplish together.  We love sharing God’s love, most of all.

We also share about our family’s journey through traumatic brain injury, healing, prayer, and the many ways God has carried us through hard seasons. Through it all, He has been faithful.

As our story continues, we are thankful for every prayer, every answered prayer, every hard season God has carried us through, and every little miracle He keeps growing along the way.

Thanks for checking out our family blog! Welcome to our journey!

Blessings and love from our family to yours,

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three;
but the greatest of these is love.

❤️ Prayers & Praises

Welcome to our Prayer Wall ~ a space of hope, healing, and heartfelt connection. Whether you're walking through grief, praying for a miracle, or praising God for answered prayers, you are not alone.

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
~ 1 Timothy 6:12

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ
~ 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
~ John 16:33

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
~ Isaiah 40:28-31

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
~ Romans 8:31

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
~ Psalm 118:17
