The Direction of My Dreams

December 23, 2015 by Heidi Olsen Leave a Comment

Do you have a dream in your heart?
Have you taken the first step towards your dream?
Sometimes your life is defined by a single moment.
Let it be today.

Go boldy in the direction of your dreams!

Life can be scary sometimes, even when you think you just have it all figured out. I keep learning that if I keep taking leaps of faith towards my dreams, God will fill in the rest. This sign was such a good reminder to me that I have to chase my dreams, even if I’m not 100% sure or I decide later on a new dream.

If I hadn’t followed my dreams,
I wouldn’t be a wife and mother – the ultimate of my life’s dreams.

Go boldy in the direction of your dreams!

Dreams make life worth living. Dreaming is fun with others, especially your husband! Following my dreams has helped me to inspire others to follow theirs, too! One of my dreams was to own my own company with my husband. We opened our first auto repair company in 2002 with a toddler, another baby on the way and only $40 to our name with all of our bills due in less than a week! Norm and I had no idea we would be so successful and help so many people with their cars!

With man this is impossible, but with God ALL things are possible.
~ Matthew 19:26

The beauty of dreams is that some people have the same dreams and others have different dreams. It always amazes me how different God made everyone! Your dreams don’t have to be the same as anyone else’s. They make you proud of what you can accomplish. Most importantly, you only live once! I have followed big dreams in my life, even when the challenges seemed unsurmountable.

Life is like a roller coaster, you don’t know what it will be like the first time, but you only get to ride it once. ~ Graci Olsen

Don’t wait until everything is perfect in life. Life will never be perfect! Don’t follow dreams others have for you! If I would have done that, I wouldn’t have married the love of my life at 19!

Don’t wait until you know everything! I am constantly learning in life and I read a lot! What I don’t know I usually figure it out, even in the middle of things sometimes.

Believe in and visualize your dreams! I love to do this with Norm. God has blessed me with a husband that not only loves to dream with me, but shares the same ideas about our life together. We come up with different dreams and think out each one before we decide to take action on the perfect one for us.

Take one step at a time. My dad always taught me to pace myself and that I will get there. He told me that one of the things he is most proud about me as his daughter is that I apply myself. I’ve learned that will always be challenges in life and practice does make perfect!

The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one. ~ Elbert Hubbard

Accomplishing my dreams makes me feel good! I have the power to create, influence and change my life. With God’s help, I have the power to change the world.

Someday when I look back on my life, I want to know that I followed my dreams and faced my fears. I want my children to follow their dreams because they watched their daddy and mama follow theirs, even when great sacrifices were required of them. I want my children to shine their lights in the world.

The great pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do. ~

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
~ 1 Timothy 6:12

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ
~ 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
~ John 16:33

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
~ Isaiah 40:28-31

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
~ Romans 8:31
